Since Fall 2015, teaching artist Kristen Brown has explored the concept of identity with elementary and middle school students in our Jr. Viewfinders after school program. Through guided projects, the youth created soapboxes, poetry, and photographic collages as an expression of who they are and the leaders they want to be.
To honor the work of the youth and the community in which they live, we have installed several of these works as large-scale, exterior murals throughout the neighborhood. On Saturday, October 14th starting at 2PM, we will have an activation celebration of the work!
